Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1+ year of experience in plumbing, maintenance, general repair, water treatment, or related work.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Willingness to travel within PA, NJ, DE, MD, DC, northern VA, and parts of NY (occasional overnight travel).
  • Comfortable with basic computer use, including Microsoft Office tools.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work varied hours as needed.

Job Summary

The Equipment Technician plays a key role in supporting the Field Team by assisting with equipment and chemical needs. This includes tasks such as installing and setting up plumbing and equipment, calibrating and programming control systems, priming chemical pumps, handling remote communications, and troubleshooting any issues.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of water treatment equipment, helping to make sure everything is set up correctly with the right connections and leak prevention.
  • Learn and apply chemical dosing and testing to help with the start up and troubleshooting of water treatment equipment
  • Start up, troubleshoot, and operate equipment for customers, while teaching their team how to use it effectively
  • Use basic knowledge of electrical systems to help operate equipment and troubleshoot any issues
  • Work with our regional service teams to share knowledge and provide guidance on equipment changes, chemical feeds, and system operations
  • Travel to client locations to provide hands‑on assistance with installing, setting up, and training others on our equipment, ensuring everything runs smoothly (which will involve overnight travel at times)
  • Work with other teams to suggest improvements in our equipment based on feedback from customer visits
  • Keep detailed records of service activities, including what was fixed and any recommendations for future improvements, and share these with management
  • Support other technicians with technical or customer service needs and assist with training when needed
  • Coordinate with other departments and external vendors to manage parts and supplies
  • Infrequently transport small amounts of water treatment chemicals (about 5 gallons) to customer sites
  • Work evening and weekend hours as necessary to support business needs (standard hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m.)
  • Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one (1) year of experience in plumbing, maintenance, general repair, water treatment or other similar work
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness and ability to travel within Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Washington, D.C., northern Virginia, and parts of New York for the job (occasional overnight travel, less than 5%)
  • Comfortable with basic computer use, including Microsoft Office tools
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal managerial oversight
  • Willingness to work in environments that may be noisy or not air‑conditioned
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability and willingness to work evening and weekend hours as needed to support business needs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of electrical schematics and wiring
  • Familiarity with water treatment systems, equipment and testing
  • Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDSs)
Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated pay range for this position is between $22 - $28/hr, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off.
