Job summary

Moore Company is seeking an Equipment Technician to install, set up, maintain, and repair heavy machinery within the Inserting Department. You will ensure peak equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, collaboration with the warehouse, and hands-on training of operators in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal and time management abilities are essential.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot equipment.
• 1 year of electronic and mechanical troubleshooting on automated manufacturing equipment.
• Able to work effectively in a warehouse environment.
• 3 years in print, direct mail, bindery, or fulfillment is a plus.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain mail inserter equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs to reduce downtime.
• Troubleshoot issues and complete repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure materials are available for jobs.
• Inspect output quality and make necessary adjustments.
• Train operators on basic machine operation and issue resolution.
• Conduct routine inspections and report system failures.
• Suggest upgrades and repairs to improve efficiency.
• Address potential safety hazards to minimize incidents.

Equipment Technician

The Equipment Technician is responsible for the installation, setup, maintenance, and repair of heavy machinery and equipment within the Inserting Department. This role ensures equipment operates efficiently and minimizes production downtime.

Responsibilities

• The Equipment Technician ensures machines are running at peak efficiency through proper set-up, adjustment, preventative maintenance, and minor mechanical repairs.
• Perform a variety of standard and prescribed duties to set up, operate, and maintain mail inserter equipment.
• Work from schedules, samples, and instructions to set up, run, and operate selective inserters.
• Troubleshoot issues and make repairs.
• Coordinate with the warehouse that adequate material is available for assigned jobs.
• Check the output for quality and make minor adjustments as required.
• Verify material for proper stock number/code against production order/sample.
• Conduct preventative maintenance; cleaning, checking, and inspecting equipment.
• Train operators on basic machine operations and the solving of minor operation issues.
• Conducting Routine Inspections.
• Reporting System Failures.
• Providing recommendations for upgrades and repairs.
• Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
• Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.

Qualifications

• Possesses effective communication skills: oral, written, and listening. (English Language).
• Good interpersonal and time management skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• 1 year: electronic and mechanical troubleshooting experience on automated manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment.
• 3 years: print, direct mail, bindery, and/or fulfillment industry (Good To have)
• Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience working in both team and independent settings.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
• High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree.
