Job summary

TPC Louisiana in Avondale near New Orleans is seeking an Equipment Technician to assist in maintaining and repairing golf course equipment. The role supports the Golf Course Maintenance department with hands-on mechanical work and record-keeping, starting at an hourly rate.

Ideal candidates have a high school education with trades or mechanics training and at least one year of small engine or turf equipment experience. Safety and organized work areas are emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Assist Equipment Manager with preventative and curative maintenance on golf course equipment.
• Complete daily service records and maintain parts inventory.
• Keep maintenance shop clean, organized and safe.
• Follow all safety guidelines and task procedures in the Operations Manual.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.

SCOPE/POSITION OVERVIEW

Starting @ $20.00 Hourly The Equipment Technician is responsible for assisting in the equipment maintenance and repair operations for the Golf Course Maintenance department.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school education, and preferably secondary course of study in mechanics, or trades training plus at least one year’s mechanical experience working with small engine repair and/or turf equipment, or equivalent experience in turf equipment management.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Assists the Equipment Manager in appropriate preventative and curative maintenance required for all golf course equipment maintenance operations. Completes daily service records. Assist the Equipment Manager in maintaining appropriate parts inventory. Ensures that the equipment maintenance shop and appropriate areas are kept clean, organized, and provide a safe working environment for staff members. Must be thoroughly trained in the procedures of each task before performing such tasks. Must follow the guidelines in the Golf Course Maintenance Operations Manual for each specific task. Required to wear personal protective clothing and/or use protective equipment to comply with established safety operating standards. Special projects or other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 25 pounds, moving and/or lift items with awkward weights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. An essential function of the job is to be able to comply with all applicable federal, state and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
