Job summary

Luminis Health is seeking a DME Supply Room Associate to manage hospital-wide inventory par levels and ensure DME is clean, functional, and safe for patient use.

The role involves maintaining RFID tracking, using EPIC CLINCON and Mednet systems, and coordinating with Biomed for repairs and replacements while educating staff on DME basics. This position supports large equipment projects and adheres to safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Enrollment in bioengineering program or medical terminology experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of hospital setting experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain RFID tracking system and update device information.
• Use RFID daily and access Mednet reports as needed.
• Receive DME requests via EPIC CLINCON; coordinate responses.
• Collect broken equipment, return to Biomed, and supply spares.
• Manage hospital-wide DME par levels and central storage.
• Perform basic inspections per AAMC standards for DME.
• Educate staff on DME basic functions and safety.
• Participate in large equipment projects and asset tagging.
• Follow MOSHA and safety regulations; proper PPE use.
• Document maintenance, inventory, and safety data.

Job description

Position Objective:

Responsible for all DME supply room inventory par levels hospital-wide; collects broken equipment, performs basic inspections of DME per standards set by the AAMC Biomedical Department and makes sure DME is clean, functional, and safe for patient use.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Helps maintain the VERSUS RFID tracking system by maintaining RFID tags and RFID tag batteries and updating / managing the software device information.
2. Will use the VERSUS RFID tracking system daily. Will have privileges in the Mednet system to track Mednet devices and run reports.
3. Receives communication from designated departmental personnel for DME needs via EPIC CLINCON system primarily, phone secondarily.
4. Performs physical and virtual rounds throughout the hospital collecting all broken equipment hospital wide and returning it to the central DME storage area for Biomed pick up. Returns repaired equipment to clinical areas. Replaces broken equipment with spares to eliminate clinical downtime. Performs minor repair/replacement tasks. Enters Biomed work orders if needed.
5. Is responsible for all DME supply room inventory par levels hospital-wide as well as the central equipment storage location.
6. Performs basic inspection of DME per standards set by the AAMC Biomedical Department and makes sure DME is clean, functional, and safe for patient use. Collects/reports relevant DME data including cleaning, repair, and staff cleaning compliance statistics. Maintains records of maintenance, inventory and safety inspection activities in accordance with departmental policies.
7. Educates staff on basic functions of DME.
8. Will be on the project team for large volume equipment projects such as (IV pump exchanges) and unpack and inspect delivered equipment, asset tag and put in computer inventory system, and help deliver/exchange new equipment.
9. Performs all duties in accordance with all MOSHA, Equipment and Manufacturer safety regulations with respect to personal protective equipment and safe equipment operations.
10. Disposes of hazardous waste in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Enrollment in an accredited Bioengineering program/medical terminology experience.
• One year experience in a hospital setting

Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
