Job summary

S.M. Hentges & Sons Inc is seeking a dependable Pressure Washer / Shop Helper to join our Equipment team. The role supports highway and heavy civil construction operations by keeping equipment clean, safe, and field-ready.

You will assist mechanics, maintain shop areas, and operate basic equipment with training provided. Qualifications include lifting up to 50 lbs, working outdoors in various weather, reliable attendance, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience with pressure washing, shop work, or construction equipment preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Clean and pressure wash construction equipment, trucks, and tools.
• Assist mechanics and technicians with basic repairs, maintenance, and part runs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, yard, and wash bay areas.
• Safely operate small equipment such as pressure washers, forklifts, and skid steers (training provided).
• Perform routine inspections and report issues or damage to the Shop Foreman.
• Support field operations with equipment delivery, fueling, and light maintenance as needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times.
