Job summary

Gowanda Electronics is seeking an Equipment Setup Technician to prepare, adjust, configure, and verify production equipment in a fast-paced environment. You will perform machine setups, install tooling and fixtures, and ensure accurate configuration according to job specs.

This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read setup sheets and drawings, and precise adjustments. You will collaborate with Production and Quality, conduct first-piece checks, and keep documentation up to

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
  • 25 years of experience in equipment setup, machine operation, or manufacturing changeovers.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of production machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret setup sheets, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, basic power tools, measurement devices, and alignment tools.
  • Knowledge of part tolerances, inspection techniques, and firstpiece validation.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to make precise mechanical adjustments.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment setups, adjustments, and changeovers for new production jobs or part numbers.
  • Install tooling, fixtures, jigs, machine components, or specialized workholding devices required for each setup.
  • Review setup sheets, job travelers, work instructions, and production specifications to ensure accurate configuration.
  • Verify machine alignment, tooling placement, and job parameters prior to releasing equipment to operators.
  • Conduct firstpiece checks in collaboration with Production or Quality personnel.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust setuprelated issues to optimize performance and reduce downtime.
  • Clean, reset, and prepare machinery between production runs.
  • Update setup documentation, parameters, tooling records, or visual aids when changes occur.
  • Work closely with Production Operators to ensure a smooth handoff and understanding of the setup process.
  • Maintain tools, fixtures, equipment, and workstations in an organized and safe condition.
  • Communicate setup difficulties, equipment concerns, or documentation inconsistencies to Production, Engineering, or Maintenance.
  • Follow all safety, lockout/tagout, and operational procedures.
  • May be required to perform assembly or production tasks during downtime.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support production.

FT: Equipment Setup Technician, Gowanda.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detailoriented, highly organized, and skilled at performing equipment setups in a fastpaced production environment.

The position of Equipment Setup Technician is responsible for preparing, adjusting, configuring, and verifying production equipment in accordance with job specifications. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the shift.

  • Ability to safely work around production machinery and equipment.
