Summary

Are you mechanically inclined with a knack for hands-on work? Do you enjoy a flexible schedule and working independently, but also have the support of a team? The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based, customer-facing role, primarily working inside hospitals. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment used in surgical procedures, as well as providing installation support on complex mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic units. Individuals with experience in HVAC repair, Mechanics, Maintenance, Refrigeration, Boilers, Chillers, Equipment Repair, Diesel and Automotive Repair, Aviation Repair, Plumbing, Electrical, etc. are often successful.

What you’ll do as an Equipment Service Tech

• Perform fundamental troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment, systems and components.
• Manage time effectively by prioritizing Customer and business needs and schedules autonomously to complete PMs, service calls, warranty calls, equipment installations, field upgrade programs and other duties.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Tech Support, Engineering and Service Contract Management) to escalate issues, use advanced technology platforms to satisfy regulatory requirements, and document troubleshooting results.
• Provide Customers with information, pricing and repair options. With management support, build relationships with Sales to drive Customer experience and revenue opportunities and learn to identify sales opportunities in the assigned territory.
• Provide support to various locations within the assigned territory depending on service agreements and Customer needs.

Experience, Skills and Abilities

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of work experience, including 2 years in a mechanical/technical role. An associates degree or related certifications in technical/mechanical areas, competitive equipment training, or related military experience may be considered toward the experience requirement.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background and physical assessment requirements for vendor credentialing.
• Customer and team engagement experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills (MS Windows/email, navigation, mobile app usage, and data input into multiple systems).
• Flexibility to meet schedules with potential overnights and early/late hours based on Customer and business needs.

Pay range: $75,000.00 – $85,800.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates comply with county/city minimums if higher than the listed range. Pay rates are based on factors including experience, education, certifications and other considerations.
