Job summary

Samaritan's Purse in Coppell, TX is seeking an Equipment Service Technician to support the NADR fleet and equipment operations. You will assist the Fleet Mechanic/Driver, travel to field sites, provide logistical support, and ensure safety and quality of work for staff and volunteers.

The role requires a CDL Class A, DOT Medical Card, and the ability to troubleshoot varied equipment. You will be based in Coppell, TX and may deploy on short notice to support deployments and project sites.

Qualifications

Must obtain CDL Class A and a valid DOT Medical Card within one year of hire.
High-School diploma or GED with one year related experience or training, or equivalent.
Ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of equipment, including trucks, trailers, small tools and power tools.
Ability to drive for extended periods and deploy on short notice.

Responsibilities

Maintain and operate NADR's vehicle fleet and equipment.
Travel to field sites to provide logistical support and tool management.
Ensure safety and quality of work; document properly on checklists and work orders.
Interact with volunteers, homeowners and staff.
Other duties may be assigned.

The Equipment Service Technician will assist the Fleet Mechanic/Driver with the operation and continued maintenance of North American Disaster Relief's (NADR) fleet of vehicles and supporting equipment at Samaritan's Purse. You will travel to field sites, provide logistical support, assist with tool management while ensuring the safety and quality of work for staff and volunteers. On a daily basis, you will interact and connect with volunteers, homeowners and staff. This position is based in Coppell, TX. Join this team and share in spreading the gospel!

In the role of Equipment Service Technician, you will have the opportunity to:

Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
Travel to field sites to maintain and operate vehicles and equipment, provide logistical support, assist with tool management and project site instruction and ensure the safety and quality of work.
Ensure regular maintenance, repairs and cleanliness of the departments' vehicle fleet and equipment. Maintain the equipment in response-ready mode and ensure all work performed is recorded properly on the check list and work orders.
Recognize "quality work" as being a Christian witness. This pertains to all work, including the cleanliness and organization of the tool and shop areas, as well as the warehouse, sheds, and garage areas. This also includes being "safety conscious" concerning the work performed and the areas surrounding the work.
Be in contact with Samaritan's Purse beneficiaries (children, young adults, adults at risk) promoting and safeguarding their welfare within the context of Samaritan's Purse operations.
Attend daily morning devotions and participate in prayer support for the ministry, donors, and volunteers.

What are the qualifications?

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:

Must successfully acquire a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a valid DOT Medical Card (driving school provided, if needed) within one year of hire
High-School diploma or general education degree (GED) and one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to maintain and troubleshoot issues with a wide variety of equipment, such as trucks, trailers, small equipment and power tools
Ability to drive for an extended period of time
Able to deploy on very short notice
