Job summary

Chet’s Rent-All, a family-owned equipment and tool rental company serving the greater Detroit area since 1946, is seeking a dependable Equipment Service Technician. You’ll ensure rental gear is safe, reliable, and ready for customers, playing a key role in delivering an outstanding rental experience.

This full-time, outdoors role offers hands-on work, training, and opportunities to learn and grow within a trusted eight-location business that values safety, teamwork, and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license required; Chauffeur license preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other yard equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift, move, and handle equipment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to all customers and partners.
• Operate equipment for loading and unloading for customers, internal drivers, and outside haulers.
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Explain safe operating procedures of equipment to customers.
• Perform routine checks to ensure equipment is safe and in proper working condition.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard, storage areas, and workspaces.
• Clean and maintain the appearance of equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment or facility.
• Complete inspection checklists and report issues to the Store Manager.
• Inspect returned equipment for damage, missing parts, or maintenance needs.
• Secure equipment to prevent accidents, hazards, or unauthorized use.
• Support team members as needed.
