Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking an experienced Equipment Representative to support government missions by planning, procuring, and implementing equipment for healthcare and research lab facilities within the Facility Life Cycle Management process.

The role involves site investigations at Military Treatment Facilities, defining equipment requirements, reviewing design deliverables, and coordinating across pre-design to outfitting phases to ensure compliance with DoD criteria.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Security clearance (Tier1/NACI or DoD 1000.13-M-VI) eligibility
• Minimum of five years in healthcare and research lab facility operations
• Experience defining and communicating equipment requirements across the project life cycle
• Education or certification in Biomedical Equipment or Engineering

Responsibilities

• Travel to and conduct Equipment site investigations at Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
• Identify and develop equipment requirements for project sponsors, including cabinetry, openings, interior finishes and furnishings.
• Assess current-state conditions and ensure they meet government Interior Design criteria.
• Develop and document end-state results and objectives, ensuring adherence to government equipment criteria.
• Evaluate existing equipment for reuse or new purchase recommendations.
• Determine the quantity and location of equipment for new or renovated spaces.
• Review acquisition documents, including Design, Construction, and Initial Outfitting (IO) Contractor RFPs/SOWs.
• Clearly communicate required equipment deliverables across all project phases to ensure conformance with criteria and standards.
• Review equipment design deliverables.
• Assist the Government in developing equipment design change requests.
• Review equipment preconstruction, construction, and initial outfitting deliverables, including shop drawings, product literature, PRCs, and cost estimates.
• Respond to RFIs and ASIs related to equipment.
• Inspect installed equipment products.

In this critical role, you will play a key part in the entire Facility Life Cycle Management (FLCM) process, ensuring that all equipment requirements for healthcare and research lab facilities are meticulously planned, procured, and implemented.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Travel to and conduct Equipment site investigations at Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).


• Identify and develop comprehensive equipment requirements for project sponsors, including cabinetry, openings, interior finishes, specialties, and furnishings.


• Assess current-state conditions and ensure they meet government Interior Design criteria.


• Develop and document end-state results and objectives, ensuring adherence to government equipment criteria.


• Evaluate existing equipment for reuse or new purchase recommendations.


• Determine the quantity and location of equipment for new or renovated spaces.

Skills and Experience:

• U.S Citizenship required


• Applicants must be able to obtain pertinent security clearance. Position requires Tier1/NACI or DoDM 1000.13-M-VI clearance.


• Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience in healthcare and research lab facility operations.


• Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience in defining and communicating equipment requirements, constraints, and objectives for design and construction across the entire project life cycle. This includes reading and reviewing equipment design documents, construction submittals, inspecting equipment supplier and installer work, and confirming closeout submittals.


• One of the following educational backgrounds or certifications:
  
  
  • Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology
  
  
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a civilian accredited school
  
  
  • Active Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) issued by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation Credentials Institute
  
  
  • United States Military Biomedical Equipment Technician training course completion certificate
  
  
  • OR 10 years of experience in the qualifications listed above, with a minimum of 5 years specifically in healthcare.
  
  
  
  


• Proficiency in reading and reviewing equipment documents, including design analyses, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.


• Experience reviewing equipment construction documents such as RFIs, ASIs, shop drawings, and product literature.


• Knowledge of acquisition and procurement of equipment.


• Understanding of DoD Equipment Policy and Criteria Development.


• Demonstrated experience in executing DoD military medical projects.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.


• Experience with LogiCole database and running inventory reports.


• Familiarity with the Space & Equipment Planning System (SEPS).
