Job summary

Maker's Pride seeks an Equipment Rebuilder to disassemble, inspect, repair, rebuild, and reassemble food manufacturing equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation. You will support maintenance through preventive tasks and troubleshoot mechanical issues while following food safety standards.

The role requires reading schematics, performing precision measurements, and collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize downtime. On-site with potential overtime.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of mechanical maintenance, equipment rebuilding, industrial maintenance, or related experience preferred.
  • Perform lockout/tagout and be company certified.
  • Operate forklifts of all types and be company certified.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with conveyors, pumps, mixers, fillers, packaging equipment, or other food processing machinery preferred.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance management systems.
  • Tig and Wire welding, fabrication, machining, and rigging experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, and rebuild production and packaging equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures and determine repair or replacement requirements.
  • Replace worn or damaged components including bearings, seals, belts, chains, gears, shafts, motors, pumps, and valves.
  • Perform equipment overhauls during planned shutdowns and preventive maintenance periods.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, parts manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Measure and inspect components using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Deburring sharp edges, grinding, polishing, and painting.
  • Fabricate or modify machine parts as needed using basic machine shop equipment.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
  • Collaborate with maintenance technicians, production personnel, and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
  • Follow all food safety, GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to 5S standards.
  • Participate in emergency repairs and support production needs as required.
  • Operate lifts to move, load, unload heavy equipment at various locations.
  • Operate all types of man lifts at various locations for equipment installation while having company certifications.

Position Summary

The Equipment Rebuilder is responsible for disassembling, inspecting, repairing, rebuilding, and reassembling food manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This position supports production by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and restoring machinery to manufacturer and company standards while adhering to food safety, quality, and safety requirements.

Hours of Operation

Monday through Friday + Overtime/Weekends

1st Shift

6:00AM to 2:30PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, or noisy manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and during plant shutdowns as needed.
Working Conditions
  • Food manufacturing environment requiring adherence to GMPs, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Exposure to moving machinery, cleaning chemicals, and production equipment.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed footwear.
