Job summary

Spire Solutions, a subsidiary of The Weitz Company, is seeking an Equipment Procurement Manager to oversee day-to-day equipment operations at our Port Washington, WI warehouse.

You will collaborate with project teams and leadership to improve cost, quality, and productivity while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards. This onsite role emphasizes strategic sourcing, vendor management, and team leadership.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of construction-related experience including management of warehouse operations.
  • An industry-related bachelor's degree is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Forklift Certification and OSHA 30 or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain financials and prepare annual budget.
  • Keep warehouse and equipment operation organized and well-maintained.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and project teams before purchasing, leasing, or renting equipment.
  • Track equipment usage and schedule maintenance to regulations; advise on replacement, sale, or repair.
  • Source reputable vendors and expand warehouse services to projects.
  • Support safety programs and ensure equipment is safe and compliant.
  • Ensure timely delivery of equipment to project sites to maximize productivity.
  • Maintain current asset inventory and resolve discrepancies.
  • Operate small equipment for loading/unloading as needed.
  • Ensure invoices are accurately coded to project sites.
  • Stay updated on new materials and technologies to improve cost or productivity.
  • Manage staff including mentoring, development goals, delegation, and recruitment.

Spire Solutions is hiring an Equipment Procurement Manager to work onsite at our warehouse in Port Washington, WI! The Equipment Procurement Manager is responsible for profitably managing the day-to-day equipment operations. This role will collaborate closely with project teams and leadership to drive performance across all projects.

This role will work onsite at our warehouse in Port Washington, WI.

What You'll Do
  • Maintain financials and reporting and prepare annual budget
  • Maintain an organized and well-maintained warehouse and equipment operation
  • Collaborate with applicable warehouse and project teams prior to purchasing, leasing or renting equipment
  • Track equipment and tool usage to ensure regular scheduled maintenance is completed within regulations; recommend replacement, sale or repair as necessary
  • Source and solidify reputable vendors
  • Pursue opportunities to provide additional services to project teams in an effort to expand warehouse operations
  • Support safety programs, including: assisting with implementation, ensuring all equipment and tools are in safe working condition, establishing positive safety behavior and adhering to safety protocols
  • Comply with DOT regulations (i.e. trailer weight/load restrictions, equipment maintenance)
  • Ensure equipment and tools are delivered timely to project sites in order to maximize productivity and in a cost-effective manner
  • Maintain current asset inventory to resolve inventory irregularities, usage inaccuracies and equipment uses
  • Operate small equipment to load/unload trucks, and other tasks as needed
  • Ensure invoices are accurate and timely, including correct coding to project sites
  • Stay abreast of new construction materials, equipment and technologies; evaluate if new techniques improve cost or productivity
  • Manage staff, to include: mentoring, creating development goals, delegating tasks/responsibilities, recommending disciplinary action and recruiting qualified talent
What We're Looking For
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of construction-related experience is preferred, including management of quality assurance processes and leading change within a warehouse
    • An industry related bachelor's degree is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
    • Forklift Certification and OSHA 30 or the willingness to obtain upon hire
  • Technology:
    • Proficiency in basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
    • Ability to learn job-specific software (JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, warehouse software, etc.)
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership skills and ability to work well with others
    • Organized with a high attention to detail
