Equipment Operator - True North Golf Club

Equipment Operator Position Overview
The Equipment Operator reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents. Under their supervision, the Operator participates in the maintenance of the golf course areas, including but not limited to, tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths; the operation and cleaning of motorized and other mechanical equipment; and does related work as required.

Functions and Employment Standards

  1. Willingness to learn the maintenance operations of golf course tees, fairways, and greens.
  2. Equipment operators will be trained in the operation and care of mowing equipment and other tasks for the maintenance of the golf course.
  3. A large part of the maintenance at TNGC is mowing.
  4. The Equipment Operators must be able to walk up to 5 miles a day.
  5. The equipment operators must be able to lift 50 lbs. on occasion and 25 lbs. repetitively.
  6. The equipment operators must be strongly motivated to align and partner with other operators to complete all tasks to the highest standards and achieve team goals.
  7. The equipment operators must be able to work safely under the training and guidelines given.
  8. The equipment operators need to have a high-quality work ethic, not high quantity.
  9. Equipment operators must be punctual and be able to work to the schedule put forth.
  10. Must have a willingness to ask questions to learn the why, when, and what we are doing for the maintenance of the golf course.
  11. Uphold the given professional clothing attire while working.

Schedule Outlook
Arrive on time and be ready for the start of the day’s work schedule. Seasonal employment runs from May 1st to October 31st. General schedule for full-time seasonal 6:00 AM to 1:15 PM Monday to Friday; 1 day on Sat or Sun 6:00 to 10:00. General schedule for part-time seasonal 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM Monday to Friday; 1 day on Sat or Sun 6:00 to 10:00. For employees still in school for the months of May, September, and October, they can work 8 hours on both weekend days and work after school a couple of days a week.

Compensation and Benefits
Hourly wage: $18.69 an hour for entry-level, up to $20 for 3+ years’ experience.
