Job description

Job Title: Equipment Operator - Streets

The City of Beloit has an employment opportunity in the Operations Division of the Department of Public Works. We are currently accepting applications for the position of Equipment Operator - Streets.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform semi-skilled manual labor related to street maintenance and repair programs of city streets and Right of Way (ROW).
• Operate snow removal equipment, grounds maintenance, and light maintenance and repair work.

Work Schedule:

This position typically works Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Fridays from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Schedule is subject to change based on business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
3. A minimum of one (1) year of responsible work experience; experience in streets maintenance and repair is preferred
4. Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire
5. “N” tank vehicle endorsement for CDL, or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire
6. Other combinations of training and/or experience demonstrating the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities will also be considered
