Peoria's Public Works Department has an excellent opportunity for an Equipment Operator in the residential collection division.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:



  • Heavy equipment in the completion of assigned tasks such as excavating, trenching, street cleaning, and delivering refuse and recycling materials to the landfill.

  • Various types of solid waste equipment, including front load, side load, rear load, and roll-off collection vehicles.



  • An articulated tractor.

Education:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.


Experience:



  • At least 9-12 months of experience in a similar or related position.


Physical Demands:



  • This role requires heavy physical exertion and effort.


Licenses and Certifications:



  • A valid Arizona Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required at the time of hire.

  • Depending on the assignment, a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and/or Tanker and HazMAT endorsements may be required within 12 months of hire.
