Job summary

Watco Transloading in New Martinsville, WV is seeking an Equipment Operator to keep freight moving by safely operating heavy equipment for daily transloading and site operations. You’ll work both independently and with a team in outdoor conditions, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations, with hands-on tasks and continuous safety emphasis.

The role requires 2–3 years of equipment experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass essential evaluations.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience operating equipment is strongly preferred.
• Must demonstrate competency in the equipment type through evaluations.
• Familiarity with various cargo types and safety considerations.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to support transloading and site operations.
• Transfer materials between trucks, railcars, vessels, barges and storage areas.
• Perform equipment inspections before/after use and report safety concerns.
• Participate in daily safety briefings and maintain clean, organized work areas.
• Follow written/verbal instructions to meet schedules, outdoors in varying weather.
