Job summary

Recology Blossom Valley Organics - South in Lamont, CA is seeking an Equipment Operator for a Monday–Friday 4pm–1:30am shift. The role involves sorting, loading waste and recyclables, and ensuring safe transport from the site.

Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment, performing routine safety inspections, maintaining a clean work area, and assisting other operators as needed. Prior experience and basic computer aptitude are required.

Role of Equipment Operator
Shift: Monday - Friday 4pm - 1:30am

Under minimal supervision, facilitate sorting, positioning, staging and loading waste and recyclable materials for safe transport and efficient removal from the site.

  • Operates heavy equipment, such as a loader, dozer, excavator or similar equipment, as applicable to location.
  • Performs daily routine safety and equipment operation checks including pre- and post-shift inspections on assigned equipment.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  • Reports issues to the appropriate authority and in a timely manner.
  • Acts as a lead or resource for other Equipment Operators, answering questions and providing training.
  • Supports other areas of the operation, as needed.
  • Maintains good customer relations and interacts in a professional manner with customers.
  • Suggests process improvements to enhance efficient removal from the site.
  • Other duties as assigned.
