Under immediate supervision, performs routine semi-skilled work in the operation of motorized equipment; does related work as required.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the eleventh grade and some experience in the operation of motorized equipment.
Some knowledge of the principles and practices of operating and servicing trucks and related light construction equipment; some knowledge of the traffic laws and regulations governing equipment operation; some knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety precautions necessary to the proper operation of varied construction and maintenance equipment; skill and care in the operation of several types of trucks and construction equipment; ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment.
Able to work 12-hour shifts 7 days a week during ice and snow removal.
Possession of a valid North Carolina Commercial (CDL) driver's license.
