Job summary

Generous Brands in Bakersfield, CA is seeking an Equipment Operator for the 3rd shift to support production lines, monitor equipment, load ingredients, and perform changeovers while maintaining safety standards. This full-time role requires a high school diploma or GED, reliability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Forklift certification is a plus; experience with machinery maintenance is desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–2 years related experience or training
• Proven, reliable work history
• Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
• Pro-active mindset with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work as a team and follow instructions
• Experience operating machinery
• Mechanical knowledge of automated machines and tools
• Ability to repair minor mechanical issues on machines and systems
• Experience conducting quality tests and analyzing data
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Monitor and log equipment values and parameters (temperature, pressure, gauges)
• Track correct materials for all production requirements
• Unload and prepare ingredients for daily processing
• Complete changeovers, CIP’s, PMs; clean and sanitize tools/equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Identify faults and troubleshoot equipment as required
• Ensure equipment is maintained per health and safety regulations
• Clean, lubricate, and perform regular safety checks on equipment
• Fix issues that occur during the shift
• Maintain activity logs
• Train new personnel on proper procedures
• Support food safety, legality, and quality programs
• Experience with minor mechanical repairs

What You’ll Be Responsible For In This Role

• Monitor and log equipment values and parameters to include temperature and pressure gauges, indicators, and meters.

• Cleaning, lubricating, and performing regular safety checks on equipment.
• Fix issues that might occur during the shift

• Trains new personnel on proper operational procedures
• Supports food safety, legality, and quality programs
• Experience with minor mechanical repairs (e.g., jams, using tools, making basic adjustments to equipment, etc.)

WHAT WE’R LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma or GED; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proven, reliable work history

Additional Required Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Pro-active mindset with the ability to apply common sense and good judgment under minimal supervision
• Must be able to work as a team and follow instructions
• Proven experience operating machinery
• Mechanical knowledge of automated machines and tools
• Ability to repair minor mechanical issues on machines and systems
• Experience conducting quality tests and analyzing data
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• One to two years’ experience as an Equipment Operator in a similar production environment preferred
• Forklift certification

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended period of time
• Must be able to work in freezer and cold, wet or humid conditions

Hours & Workdays

• 3rd shift (10:00pm - 6:30am) when business requires overtime and weekends will be mandatory.
