Lumin8 Transportation Technologies Llc is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator in Ashland, VA to join our team for heavy construction and infrastructure projects. The role involves operating hydro-vac, bucket, and other heavy equipment, with focus on safety and efficiency.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, 8+ years related experience, and valid CDL A. Certification in IMSA/FLagger and traffic signal work is preferred. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Eight years combined experience as Groundsman/Laborer/Maintenance Technician I or Construction Technician I and Equipment Operator I.
• Ability to operate gas torches (cutting and brazing).
• Proficient with basic hand tools and power tools.
• Proficient at traffic signal wiring.
• Familiar with MUTCD, NEC, CDOT, Local, Customer, and Project specific standards and specifications.
• Able to read plans and schematic diagrams.
• Able to read survey stakes, elevations, and grades.
• Familiar with basic communications systems (radio, fiber, hard wire).
• Able to troubleshoot and repair simple problems.
• Able to supervise others and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Operate construction equipment at job sites safely and efficiently.
• Drive equipment to and from job sites and unload/load as needed.
• Inspect equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and report repairs.
• Make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment.
• Assist with supervision and training of subordinate employees.
• Maintain required personal tools and PPE.
• Ensure compliance with permits and utility locates.
• Provide transportation to and from work or use company vehicle.
