Job summary

100KCrossing is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operator to support a key airport facility in Tallahassee, Florida. You will operate heavy equipment, perform grounds care, and help keep the airport safe, clean, and welcoming year-round.

Requirements include completing the eighth grade and three years of relevant equipment experience, with a valid Florida Class B CDL (or permit with plan to upgrade). Designated certifications—Leon County Inmate Supervisory, FDOT Maintenance of Traffic, and Crane

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 8th grade education and 3 years of experience operating heavy automotive equipment.
• Directly related experience may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Job description

Make an impact by helping maintain one of our community's most important transportation facilities. In this role, you'll operate heavy equipment and perform grounds and landscape maintenance that keeps the airport safe, attractive, and operating at its best throughout the year.

What You'll Do:

• Help maintain the airport's grounds to create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
• Operate equipment and tools to complete a variety of outdoor maintenance and improvement projects.
• Inspect and care for equipment to help ensure it is ready for daily use.
• Maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, and landscaped areas through routine grounds care.
• Work collaboratively with your team to support the airport's daily operations and respond to changing maintenance needs.

Minimum Training & Experience

• Completion of the eighth grade; AND Three (3) years of experience that includes the operation of specific heavy automotive equipment assigned. NOTE: Directly related experience may be substituted on a year-for - year basis for the required education.

Necessary Special Requirements

• Must possess a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with the required endorsement(s) at the time of appointment; or possess a Florida CDL permit after passing the required written examination(s).
• Employees hired with a Florida CDL permit must obtain the required Florida Class B CDL with all applicable endorsement(s) within 60 calendar days of employment as a condition of continued employment.
• For designated positions allocated to this job class, applicants must obtain and maintain the following certifications within the specified timeframes as a condition of continued employment:
• Leon County Inmate Supervisory certification within 6 months of initial employment.
• Florida Department of Transportation Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic certification within 6 months of initial employment.
• Crane Qualification as required by OSHA 1926.1427 Safety and Health Regulations for Construction, Subsection, Cranes and Derricks in Construction, within 1 year of initial employment.
