Job summary

The Town of Wilmington in Wilmington, MA is seeking a Full-Time Equipment Operator II for the Department of Public Works, Tree Division. You will operate heavy equipment, assist in tree care, snow removal, and work under the Tree Working Foreman.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, valid Class B CDL, MA Hoisting License (or ability to obtain within six months), and knowledge of equipment mechanics. Schedule is 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High School education or GED required.
• Qualifying experience in operation of equipment or equivalent education/experience.
• Knowledge of mechanics and operation of equipment.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License required.
• Massachusetts Hoisting License required or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of equipment used in tree care and public works.
• Assist in planting and maintaining town trees and shrubbery.
• Snow and ice removal participation as part of town program.
• Follow safety standards and wear protective equipment.
• Perform duties during regular hours and emergencies as needed.
