The City of Grapevine is seeking a senior Equipment Operator to support street construction, maintenance and repair activities. The role includes operating heavy equipment, overseeing crews, and ensuring safe, efficient project execution.
You will participate in load/unload tasks, equipment maintenance and documentation while training junior workers and coordinating with the team. A valid CDL and clean driving record are required.
Works generally with other Equipment Operators and Street Crew Workers performing various independent street construction, maintenance and repair activities.
Must have two years of experience in similar field.
Must obtain a valid Texas Class A CDL license within six months of hire or promotion with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy.
Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check. Must have a valid Texas Class B CDL license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy.
Must pass a pre-employment basic physical, drug screen, functional assessment screening (Level 1), Titmus vision screening.
While performing the essential functions of this position, there will be routine and frequent exposure to:
Safety equipment such as gloves, goggles, hard hats, safety vests, steel-toe boots, back support belts, and seat belts are provided and must be worn as required by department procedures and good safety practices.

This job entails moderate physical labor, which requires strength and agility. The employee is occasionally required to sit or smell. The employee must occasionally lift, shovel, and carry 25 to 60 pounds and exert up to 70 pounds of force. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Regular full-time employees are assigned to work at least 40 hours per week, and are eligible for the City's benefit package, subject to the conditions and limitations of each program.
