Job Description

Operates road construction vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Operates construction vehicles, equipment, and trucks such as sheepsfooter rollers, mixers, water trucks, dozers, safely and skillfully.
  • Assists patching and bridge crews as assigned.
  • Completes daily activity and operating reports.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training: Graduation from an accredited high school/GED program. Two (2) years of work-related experience in operating heavy equipment.

Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Valid Class A or B Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record. Must provide a 10-year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and comply with Dallas County regulations. Mandatory drug testing prior to employment and random testing during employment. Ability to read grade stakes.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

Work in maintenance shop or road construction environments. Prolonged kneeling, standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and lifting in excess of 100 lbs. with assistance. Work in varied conditions (heat, cold, rain, ice, snow), inside and outside. Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
