  1. Operates and/or drives truck or light equipment
  2. Performs road maintenance or construction related duties while operating equipment
  3. May transport equipment and supplies
  4. Controls traffic flow at work site
  5. Performs routine maintenance on equipment or trucks and reports needed repairs
  6. Performs all other related duties as assigned

NOTE: You must fill out the work history and education sections of application to show you have the required years of experience/education or be disqualified.

High School diploma or GED + one (1) full-time year of related work experience.
OR

Five (5) full-time years of related work experience.

A current and valid Class C driver license is required upon hire.

Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is required within eight (8) months of hire.

Note: The selected candidate(s) must take and pass a pre-placement physical examination and DOT drug test.

If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment at new hire processing.

Tarrant County will conduct background checks, including criminal background checks related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years. Checks may also include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records, and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic disqualification; each case is considered individually.

While performing duties, the incumbent is regularly required to stoop, bend, push, and pull. May need to lift heavy objects up to 100 pounds. Exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme heat, and cold is possible.
