Job summary

North Dakota Department of Transportation is seeking an Equipment Operator in Drayton, ND to perform highway, roadway and structure maintenance using heavy equipment. Eligibility includes a valid ND Class A license with air brake restriction waiver and cargo tank endorsement, or fallback as Equipment Operator I with a Class B license.

Qualifications

• To be considered as an Equipment Operator II, you must have a valid North Dakota Class A driver license without air brake restrictions and a cargo tank endorsement (N) by the first day of work.
• In addition, two years of relevant experience or one year of experience and one season of winter operations similar to NDDOT.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance, including snow and ice control/removal.
• Install, repair, and maintain highway signs and guardrails; use power tools and equipment for maintenance duties.
• Perform building and ground maintenance, routine maintenance of roadway and radio system equipment; minor preventive and repair work on vehicles and equipment.
