This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the maintenance and improvement of Denver’s streets, alleys, and transportation network while serving the community through all seasons.As a Equipment Operator I you will:* Be part of a Paving, Milling, or Asphalt team* Perform semi-skilled and light to heavy physical labor on a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair projects.* Operate weed whackers, snow blowers, pull weeds, rake and shovel asphalt, and run the wing on a paver.* Operate light to medium sized equipment for maintenance and minor construction projects* Place and remove barricades, cones, and other traffic control and safety devices in and around work areas for construction and maintenance projects in accordance with traffic regulation requirement* Perform other related duties as assigned including snow removal duties## What You’ll BringOur ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:* Desire to preform light to heavy physical labor on a variety of projects related to street maintenance* Previous experience with street maintenance, and other labor or construction-related tasks* Desire to work ouside in various weather conditions (snow, rain, heat, ect) and environments (dust, fumes, etc.)* Knowledge of city of Denver streets/alleys and use of maps* Desire to promote to other positions within the department## Other Important Details* This position requires a performance assessment which involves a pre-trip inspection, post-trip inspection, and maneuvering/driving.
