If you’re ready to bring your skills and drive to a position that truly impacts the community, we want to hear from you!EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I - SOLID WASTE functions include but are not limited to the following:Operational Duties:Drive sanitation vehicle, collecting waste and recyclables.Efficiently pick up solid waste along assigned routes.Transport refuse to the landfill, following designated routes.Solid Waste Management:Operate trucks for the collection and transportation of debris to the city landfill.Perform tasks related to trash collection, ensuring the proper disposal of waste.Assist in recycling and disposal-related tasks.Vehicle Maintenance:Perform daily inspections and safety checks on assigned vehicles.Maintain accurate records of work performed, including vehicle checklists, trip logs, and repair reports.Compliance and Policies:Follow City and departmental rules, regulations, and procedures.Report to work free from the influence of drugs, controlled substances, or alcohol.Emergency Response:Essential personnel may be on 24-hour call-out for emergencies.Work overtime, including during emergencies, to provide essential services.Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.Education: High School Diploma or GEDExperience: 1 year of previous relevant work experience is required.Supervisory: No previous supervisory experience is required.Certifications/Licenses: Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License
