Equipment Operator I (Sign-On Bonus Eligible)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform manual work related to public services operations.
• Operate various construction vehicles and equipment.
• Perform snow plowing and removal.
• Conduct asphalt applications, storm drainage, and maintenance work.
• Make minor repairs to vehicles and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 3 years of experience in construction, public works, or ground maintenance.
• Ability to operate trucks and light equipment.
• Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
• Valid Maine Class B commercial driver’s license with a clean record; training provided.

Compensation and Benefits

• $1,500 sign-on bonus, paid in two lump sums.
• Competitive hourly salary.
• Full-time, non-exempt position covered by AFSCME agreement.
