Job summary

Reno County invites applications for Equipment Operator I or II to support Public Works and Road & Bridge projects in Reno County, Kansas. This position performs manual labor across mowing, sign, bridge, excavation and asphalt tasks as part of a collaborative crew.

Open crews vary by management decisions and interview discussions; candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Kansas driver’s license, and relevant certifications such as a Class B CDL where required.

Job Purpose and Objectives:

Manual labor involving a variety of duties associated with Reno County Road and Bridge.

Crews utilizing this position are Mowing and Sign, Bridge, Excavation, and Asphalt. Crews are assigned by management.

Open crews will vary and will be discussed with applicants during the interview process.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

Position Requirements - Equipment Operator I - $17.57 - $21.31 - depending on experience

• Minimum level high school graduate or have an equivalent general educational development certificate (GED).
• Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining any certification and licensing requirements relative to the position.

Certifications / Licenses:

• Possess and maintain a valid Kansas Driver’s License.

Position Requirements - Equipment Operator II - $19.00 - $23.03 - depending on experience

• Minimum level high school graduate or have an equivalent general educational development certificate (GED).
• Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining any certification and licensing requirements relative to the position.

Certifications / Licenses:

• Possess and maintain a valid Kansas Class B CDL.

Compensation within the listed pay ranges is tailored to relatable and transferrable experience.
