Job Title: Equipment Operator I

Location: Salt Lake City, UT 84123

Duration: 12 Months

Shift: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM | (12 hr.) rotating shift

Pay Range: $17.00 - $18.00

Summary: An Equipment Operator I is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of simple automated assembly machines. This individual will ensure the continued operation of assembly machines through interpretation of and appropriate response to machine faults and through infrequent alignment of stations and fixtures. They will perform simple, repetitive tasks associated with machine operation and operate machines that require a low level of attentiveness. The operator is also responsible for ensuring that medical devices are assembled with the highest quality possible.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Keep work area and equipment clean
  2. Read and understand procedures
  3. Operate equipment safely in accordance with company standards and procedures
  4. Start machines from a power-off state
  5. Perform work order set ups in electronic batch record, data acquisition, and inventory management systems
  6. Operate machines, jigs, and fixtures to produce quality products at established rates
  7. Read and interpret gauges and dials on equipment
  8. Interpret machine faults, troubleshoot, and restart machines
  9. Complete production records and work order documentation
  10. Perform inspection or testing to ensure quality
  11. Weigh, count, package, and label finished products
  12. Learn to operate simple machines quickly and easily
  13. Demonstrate flexibility in operating multiple simple machines

Basic Machines: involve press and torque fitments, typically less than 10 stations, low operator attention, minimal station and fixture alignments.

Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) preferred. Must be able to read and understand procedures.

Minimum Qualifications: At least 6 months of cleanroom experience and machine operator experience. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Travel less than 5%.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Visual inspections with or without magnification tools, ability to sit or stand for long periods, lift objects up to 20 lbs. Work in a cleanroom environment.
