Job summary

LOGISTEC in Gibsonton, FL is seeking an Equipment Operator III to safely operate cranes, excavators, loaders and forklifts in a fast-paced marine terminal. You will load and unload bulk cargo and support smooth cargo flow.

The role requires a high school diploma, ability to obtain a TWIC card, and proven heavy equipment experience in maritime settings. You must be flexible to work days, nights and weekends, with strong safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or training preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card required.
  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in a maritime or bulk terminal environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to maritime operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a variety of heavy maritime equipment, including cranes, excavators, front-end loaders, and other machinery used in bulk cargo handling operations.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Load, unload, and transfer bulk materials between vessels, trucks, and rail while maintaining efficiency and proper cargo handling procedures.
  • Work closely with terminal teams to support smooth cargo flow, maximize productivity, and minimize operational delays.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and terminal procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of equipment usage, cargo movements, and operational activities.
  • Identify equipment issues and perform basic troubleshooting or minor repairs as needed.
  • Support the training and development of new operators by sharing knowledge of equipment operation and safety practices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and on elevated platforms.
