Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking an Equipment Operator to perform hydraulic excavator, skid loader, and dozer tasks on Greenville-area job sites. This traveling role requires you to work away from home, with sessions across the Northeast and extended overnight stays.

You will inspect equipment daily, load/unload, locate underground utilities, bore paths, trench digs, and restore work sites. The position demands safety, attention to details, ability to read plans, and readiness to work 5–7 days a week, 10+

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating a directional bore drill.
• Previous rock boring experience.
• One year of Hydraulic Excavators, Skid Loader, and Dozer experience.
• Class A CDL

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment in a manner that is secure and damage-free
• Transport associated tools, materials, and/or equipment safely
• Complete a daily inspection of equipment prior to commencing work
• Operate equipment with crew to place underground utilities
• Operate equipment per company and industry standards
• Locate existing underground utilities and verify them per blueprints
• Identify utilities in construction area and bore path
• Connect/stub-up conduit and wire as required
• Dig pits, trenches, or potholes as required, including windows when crossing utilities
• Restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite
• Complete all required company documentation (timesheet, logs, etc.)
• Adhere to safety policies and work safely
• Perform other duties to help the team complete projects

We're looking for a Equipment Operator – Hydraulic Excavators, Skid Loader, Dozer to join our crew. We are searching the area of Greenville for our next potential Equipment Operator – Hydraulic Excavators, Skid Loader, Dozer. This is a traveling position; our crews work job sites throughout the Northeast, and candidates should expect to be away from home for extended stretches, including multiple nights during the week. Any local or nearby assignments should be considered the exception rather than the rule.

Summary/Objective

This position performs tasks required for the operation of hydraulic excavation equipment for the construction/upgrade of underground utilities, including communications conduit, gas, water, sewer, electric, and more.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Load and unload equipment in a manner that is secure and damage-free

Transport associated tools, materials, and/or equipment safely

Complete a daily inspection of equipment prior to commencing work

In conjunction with the crew, operate the equipment to assist in placing underground utilities

Operate equipment in accordance with company and industry standards

Responsible for locating existing underground utilities and verifying them according to blueprints

Identify utilities in the construction area and bore path

Connect/stub-up conduit and wire, as required

Dig pits, trenches, or potholes as required, including windows when crossing utilities

Restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite

Accurately complete all required company documentation for each assignment (i.e., timesheet, vehicle log, expense report)

Adhere to all established company safety policies and perform work in a safe manner

Perform other duties as assigned to help the team complete a project

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction prints, plans, and specifications

Knowledge of utility depths and placements

Possess general knowledge of construction practices

Ability to work in various environments/settings with moderate to loud noise levels

Ability to work in trenches, excavations, and manholes

Must have attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks

Ability to work efficiently, independently, and collaboratively within a team environment

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to move materials/equipment weighing up to 80 pounds

Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Able to work 5-7 days a week, 10+ hours a day when necessary

Willing to work outside in varying weather conditions

Preferred Education and Experience

One year of experience operating a directional bore drill

Previous rock boring experience

One year of Hydraulic Excavators, Skid Loader, and Dozer experience

Class A CDL

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must be willing and able to travel out of town with occasional overnight stays to assigned projects

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis

Pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background screen

Complete and pass a DOT Physical

Physical Demands This position typically requires balancing, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing, hearing, and talking.

Working Conditions The employee will be exposed to varying weather conditions as they will be driving in all types of conditions.

Travel This position may require travel, which could include traveling to projects in different cities and overnight stays.
