Job summary

Kokosing is seeking Equipment Operators to run Excavators, Dozers and Loaders on heavy highway/bridge projects in Staunton, VA and Northern VA/DC areas. Minimum five years related experience required, with safety certification and ability to pass a practical test.

The role involves working on trench and utility crews, performing routine maintenance, and following precise signals and grade stakes. Compensation includes health benefits and an equal opportunity employer stance.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of relevant experience in heavy equipment operations.
• Experience on excavators, dozers, and loaders preferred.
• Must pass a practical test and be certified/approved by Safety Department.
• Ability to follow supervisor instructions and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Checks all fluids before starting engine.
• Works on pipe/utility crews - trench safety and movement of materials.
• Performs on heavy highway/bridge projects - moving or placing materials.
• Receives written or oral instructions from supervisor.
• Performs routine maintenance such as fueling and cleaning.
• Observes ground markings, hand signals, or grade stakes.
• Operates equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• When operator work is unavailable, assists crews with other duties.
