This position involves operating heavy equipment to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.

Essential Functions

• Follow and help enforce safe practices and rules
• Prepare equipment and materials for daily work at the Foreperson’s direction
• Operate equipment as directed by the Foreperson
• Maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations
• Assist crew members and take leadership when required
• Clean up and dispose of debris
• Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers to ensure safety
• Stay informed on new equipment, practices, and policies
• Track and report mileage to the Foreperson
• Perform storm work duties as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not include direct reports.

Experience Requirements

Experience in heavy equipment operation within utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries is preferred.

Education Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and safe operation
• Physical strength and balance for climbing and operating mobile equipment
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Good hearing and communication skills
• Ability to obtain first-aid and CPR certification
• Ability to wear PPE

• Valid driver’s license, CDL, and DOT Medical Card if applicable
• Ability to read, write, and understand instructions
• Endurance for a standard workday
• Willingness to travel for storm restoration work
