Job summary

Taylor Print & Visual Impressions, a Taylor Corporation company, seeks an Equipment Operator to run Kluge equipment at our Bloomington, IL facility on 1st shift (7:00am - 3:30pm).

You will set up and operate bindery equipment, read and interpret job tickets, monitor quality, and ensure timely production while maintaining safety and cleanliness. Prior bindery experience is preferred and you will work with a team to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Basic bindery knowledge to operate bindery equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and follow directions.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information clearly.
• Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate folder-gluer equipment as required.
• Read job tickets, planning sheets and layouts to ensure proper setup.
• Set up feeders, folding sections, glue systems and other components.
• Run jobs efficiently while maintaining production speed and quality.
• Monitor glue application, folding, alignment and finished product during runs.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specs.
• Make machine adjustments to maintain quality.
• Complete work per production schedules and deadlines.
• Follow safety, quality and operating procedures.

Your Opportunity:

Taylor Print & Visual Impressions, a Taylor Corporation company, is looking for an Equipment Operator to run Kluge equipment at our Bloomington, IL facility.

Your Shift:

1st Shift, Monday – Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Your Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate folder-gluer equipment according to job specifications and production requirements.
• Read and interpret job tickets, planning sheets, layouts, and samples to ensure proper setup.
• Set up feeders, folding sections, glue systems, compression sections, and other machine components as required.
• Run jobs efficiently while maintaining production speed, accuracy, and quality standards.
• Monitor glue application, folding, alignment, scoring, and finished product throughout the run.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet job specifications and quality requirements.
• Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain consistent product quality.
• Complete all required work according to production schedules and customer deadlines.
• Follow established safety, quality, and operating procedures.
• Report defective materials, machine issues, or quality concerns to the Supervisor or Lead.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance.
• Work as part of the bindery team and assist with other production needs as directed.

You Must Have:

• Basic bindery knowledge and skills to operate bindery equipment
• Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and follow directions
• Ability to perform basic math calculations
• Requirements within this position: Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand
• Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
• Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials
• Frequently required to move inside the facility
• Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry)

We Would Also Prefer:

• High mechanical aptitude
• Previous experience operating equipment

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $19 - 21. The actual base offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation’s total compensation and benefits package for employees.
