Job summary

Troubadour Golf & Field Club, located near Nashville, TN, is seeking an Equipment Operator to join the Agronomy Department. This full-time hourly role involves operating a variety of maintenance equipment under supervision and contributing to the quality of the golf course and member experience.

Starting pay is $18–$20 per hour. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and prior golf course maintenance or construction experience, plus the ability to work flexible

Qualifications

• Experience on a golf course maintenance team or similar construction is required.
• Knowledge of operation and repair of large and small engines is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment including tractors, loaders, backhoes, mowers and other maintenance gear.
• Mows greens, tees, fairways and rough with designated mowers.
• Rakes and manicures landscapes, sand traps, and transition areas.

Job description

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Troubadour Golf & Field Club, set outside of Nashville, TN.

Troubadour Golf & Field Club is seeking a Equipment Operator to join the Agronomy Department.

The Equipment Operator, under the supervision of the Director of Agronomy, Superintendent, or Equipment Manager, performs work involving the use of large and small equipment including tractors, loaders, backhoes, mowers and other maintenance equipment. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Full-time hourly role. Starting pay $18-$20 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Operates all types of equipment including utility vehicles, flymos, mechanical sand trap rakes, aerifiers, sprayers, turf vacs, skip loaders and sprayers.
• Mows greens, tees, fairways and rough with small power mowers, trimmers, greens mower, tee mowers, fly-mos and backpack blowers on designated area of the golf course.
• Rakes and manicures desert landscape and rakes sand traps.
• Performs hand mowing or hand trimming work.
• Performs renovations and construction work, i.e. shoveling and raking.
• Performs cleaning procedures and manual labor tasks.
• Loads and unloads materials.
• Excavates and back fills ditches and trenches with hand tools.
• Rakes and manicures transition areas.
• Lays sod.
• Participates in annual over-seeding of the golf course.
• Assists in construction of new greens, tees and fairways.
• Cleans drains and culverts.
• Sweeps cart paths.
• Collects and empties litter cans.
• Operates small utility vehicles in hauling mowers and materials and removing debris, as necessary.
• Performs janitorial work in cleaning and maintaining a building.
• Cultivates and waters trees and plants.
• Performs other related groundwork as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Drivers License.
• Prior experience working on a golf course maintenance team or similar construction experience.
• Knowledge of large and small engine operation and repair.
• Knowledge of hydraulic powered machine operation and repair.

• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
