The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is seeking an Equipment Operator 4 to operate heavy machinery and support forestry activities at Tar Hollow State Forest. This full-time role offers a starting pay of $21.63/hr with opportunities for increases. Candidates must possess a Class A CDL and relevant experience in operating heavy equipment. We are seeking energetic, passionate individuals who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role as an Equipment Operator 4 within the Division of Forestry. The position is headquartered at Tar Hollow State Forest, located in Vinton County at 50874 Clark Hollow Rd., Londonderry, OH 45647. Please note: This position requires a Class A Commercial Driver's License with no restrictions.
Formal education in arithmetic (fractions, decimals, percentages), ability to read, write, and speak common English, and either six months of training or experience in operating heavy construction equipment (e.g., crawler, crane, backhoe, dozer, gradall, excavator) with related safety practices. A valid commercial driver’s license is required. For positions in the Wildfire Program, successful completion of the Basic Firefighter Introduction to Fire Behavior Course (S-130/S-190) is also required.
Alternatively, candidates may possess the equivalent of the minimum qualifications noted above.
