We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Equipment Operator 4 within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, headquartered at West Branch State Park Construction, assigned to Portage county. The address is 4958 Rockspring Rd Ravenna Ohio 44266. To learn more about The Division of Parks and Watercraft, please visit Division of Parks & Watercraft .

Please note this is a travel position. You will be traveling to different parks due to current park needs for construction & repairs.

What You Will Do…

  • Will operate a variety of heavy construction equipment to complete construction and maintenance projects within ODNR.
  • Performs routine maintenance & repairs on equipment & buildings/ground maintenance
  • Maintains & completes accurate & concise maintenance records, project logs & reports
  • Position requires a Class A CDL, with no restrictions
  • Overnight travel required at least 50% of your work week within the state of Ohio
  • Starting hourly pay of $21.63/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 4.5 years of service, with an end salary of $24.66/hr

Formal education in arithmetic to include fractions, decimals & percentages & to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operation of heavy construction equipment (e.g., 10 ton crawler, large cranes, 10 ton backhoe, 18 ton dozer, over 44,000 pound gradall, truck mounted excavator) & related safety practices; valid commercial driver's license; in addition, for positions in Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry Wildfire Program only, must successfully complete Basic Firefighter Introduction to Fire Behavior Course (S-130/S-190).

  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
