What We Need

We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Equipment Operator 2 within the Division of Forestry, headquartered at Pike State Forest, assigned to Pike county. This position requires a Class A Commercial Drivers License with no restrictions.

What You Will Do
  • Operate heavy motorized equipment for construction and maintenance functions
  • Support wildfire management activities such as fire line construction, trail, culverts, roads, and bridges
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities
  • Assist with wildfire suppression and prescribed fire support

Starting hourly pay of $20.71/hr with potential increases over 3.5 years, reaching $22.88/hr.

Minimum Qualifications

Formal education in arithmetic (fractions, decimals, percentages) and proficiency in English; 9 months of training or experience operating heavy motorized equipment (e.g., dozer, roller, excavator, dump truck) and related safety practices; valid commercial driver’s license.

Or an equivalent of the minimum class qualifications for employment.
