The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of all equipment within the Service Center. Duties may include accurately moving, stacking, and loading product, consolidating, and staging pallets for put away. The Equipment Operator position requires associates to be taken up to 30 feet in the air on equipment. Automation Operators duties include ensuring maximum throughput, first level troubleshooting of equipment problems including use of computer logs and communicating labor needs to maximize the running hours of the machinery. All operators must be able to certify on any machine within the warehouse as business needs dictate.

  • Monday - Thursday 2am - 12:30pm
Responsibilities
  • Safely operate all equipment within the distribution center. Equipment operator equipment includes: swing reach truck, reach truck, order picker, and any other machines as needed. Automation operator equipment includes inbound receiving line, outbound single box line and autobagger.
  • Ensure all assigned equipment is fully operational at beginning of shift and at full capacity, including checking for damage and reporting all damages or malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
  • Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights in a distribution facility; maneuver around tight corners, staging areas, and pedestrian traffic safely.
  • Perform routine inspections on assigned equipment and refer defects or needed repairs to the supervisor or maintenance team; clean equipment.
  • Follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Read, write, and operate RF and Print and Apply printing device; conduct business-related mathematics and analyze data as required.
  • Bring problems to the attention of the supervisor, manager, safety director or HR manager.
  • Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without accommodation.
  • Stand and walk during scheduled hours; hours usually include weekends, evenings and holidays in conjunction with labor regulations.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to communicate using various methods.
  • Kneeling, stooping, stairs, reaching, pulling and moving weights of 0-25 pounds constantly; 25-40 pounds occasionally; over 40 pounds seldomly with or without assistance as needed.
  • Ability to move up to 40 pounds at least 25 feet in distance occasionally with assistance as needed.
  • Must meet certification and operating requirements for machines including OSHA and harness regulations.
  • Based on business necessity, associates may be required to temporarily work in other locations with different physical demands.
  • Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred; minimum of 6 months of previous equipment operations experience highly preferred; basic proficiency in speaking and understanding English to comprehend safety instructions and communicate in emergencies.
