Job summary

Dematic is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator for our distribution center in New York. The role involves operating reach trucks, cherry pickers, and sit-down forklifts to pick, move, and count products, while strictly following safety procedures.

Required 1–2 years of forklift experience and certification; ability to read packing slips and manifests; able to lift 50 lbs. Work hours are Mon–Fri, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience operating powered industrial trucks in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Valid certification or license to operate reach trucks, cherry pickers, and sit-down forklifts.
• Ability to read and interpret packing slips, manifests, and quality standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate reach trucks, cherry pickers, and sit-down forklifts to move/pick product throughout the warehouse.
• Load and unload materials from trailers and storage areas.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Pick, stage, and transport materials according to work orders and inventory systems.
• Assist with inventory counts and cycle audits.
• Accurately complete required paperwork and system entries for material movement.
• Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits.
• Follow all safety protocols, including PPE and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Ensure proper labeling of packages, including barcodes, shipping labels, and handling instructions.
• Prepare and verify shipping manifests and documentation for outbound shipments.

This role is responsible for operating various types of powered industrial trucks, including reach trucks, cherry pickers, and sit-down forklifts, to pick, move, locate, stack, and count product. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. This role will be working Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Occasional overtime may be required.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $20.00 to $25.00 an hour at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
