Job summary

Triumvirate Environmental is seeking an Equipment Operator in Raleigh, NC to operate excavators and forklifts and to follow DOT, EPA, and OSHA safety practices. The role requires pre/post inspections, paperwork accuracy, and the ability to work overtime and flexible hours.

The position emphasizes hazardous waste handling, daily facility maintenance, and collaboration with the Facility Manager. A High School Diploma is required; CDL is preferred, with strict safety and attendance expectations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• 1–2 years of experience operating excavators and other equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Comply with DOT, EPA, OSHA regulations and TEI safety practices.
• Complete required paperwork and conduct pre/post-use inspections.
• Stabilize and dispose of EPA-listed hazardous waste per specs.
• Manage waste materials in line with landfill, waste-to-energy, and recycle specs.
• Maintain facility to meet permit requirements and assist Facility Manager.
• Maintain good attendance and report to the office within 1 hour during emergencies.

Essential responsibilities and duties include:

• Operate excavators and fork lifts, as well as other equipment
• Develop an understanding of DOT, EPA & OSHA regulations andTEI's Health and Safety Practices
• Understand and execute all required paperwork
• Routinely perform pre- and post-use inspections
• Stabilize and solidify EPA listed hazardous waste for disposal
• Process waste materials per landfill, waste to energy and recycle specifications
• Work with various stabilization and treatment reagents
• Maintain facility to meet/exceed permit requirements
• Assist Facility Manager as requested
• Maintain good attendance

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred but not required
• A minimum of 1-2 years experience operating excavators, as well as other equipment
• Basic knowledge of, or interest in, hazardous waste field
• Self-motivation with the desire to learn
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
• Must have a reliable form of transportation
• Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)
• Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company's commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to work overtime on a regular basis
• Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday)
• Must be able to report to designated office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts
• The Equipment Operator frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety-sensitive.

Preferred Requirements:

• Prior relevant industry experience
• Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification
• Willingness to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
