Twin Enviro Services near Steamboat Springs, CO seeks equipment operator for our locally owned and operated Landfill. Equipment includes CAT Haul Trucks, Front End Loaders, Dozers, and Excavators. No need for experience. Twin is willing and able to train, providing the necessary skills for landfill operation.

Job Summary:

The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery and equipment to assist in construction, excavation, and other operational tasks. The role involves ensuring safety, efficiency, and precision in all assigned projects. The operator must inspect and maintain equipment to minimize downtime and uphold company safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, loaders, cranes, forklifts, or other machinery as needed.
  • Follow work orders and project blueprints to meet specifications.
  • Perform pre-operation and post-operation equipment inspections.
  • Report any malfunctions or required repairs to the maintenance team.
  • Ensure proper cleaning, fueling, and upkeep of machinery.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations set by the company and OSHA.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and toolbox talks.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and other team members to ensure efficient operations.
  • Provide assistance with other duties on-site when not operating equipment.
  • Maintain accurate logs of machine operation hours, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualification & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two plus years of experience operating heavy equipment ().
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be required.
  • Winter operations with snow plowing experience in Grader is preferable.
  • Proficient in operating heavy equipment with precision.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position Monday through Friday. Varying schedule. Must be able to work as early as 6:00 am to 4:30 pm (8 hour shifts with some Overtime). Must be available to work Saturdays beginning Spring through Fall. 6am to 1:30 pm.
  • Primarily outdoor work in a landfill setting, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 50lbs and prolonged periods of sitting operating equipment.
