Job summary

Synagro in Pennsylvania is seeking a skilled operator to perform mobile de-watering and wastewater digester tank cleaning. The role involves operating pumps, confined-space entry, and heavy equipment in a safety-conscious environment.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver's license; minimum 2 years of project work experience and a clean driving record are preferred. Overtime and travel may be required; the position is on-site in PA.

Responsibilities

• All aspects of mobile de-watering and cleaning of wastewater treatment plant digester tanks and pond cleaning.
• Operate 6” hydraulic pumps, confined space entry, and in-tank fire hose operation.
• Assist with equipment mobilization, site set-up, hooking up hoses, setting pumps and generator hook up.
• Operate equipment in a safe manner at all times.
• Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance on pumps and site equipment.
• Maintain proper storage of equipment and tools.
• Maintain operation records.

JOB SUMMARY

Performs various project work which requires safely operating vehicles and a variety of equipment that may include, but not limited to; belt press, centrifuge, dredger, large submersible pumps, telehandler. Excavator, front end loader, jockey truck, and electrical experience is a plus. Additional duties include confined space digester tank entry, fire hose operator, pump cleanout during tank cleaning operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• All aspects of mobile de-watering and cleaning of wastewater treatment plant digester tanks and pond cleaning.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Communication skills – verbal and written
• Ability to operate heavy or agricultural equipment in a safe manner

• Efficiently operate and use smart phone
• Mechanical aptitude is a plus
• Ability to follow directions
• Ability to travel from job site to job site. Overnight travel may be required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Valid Drivers’ License
• Minimum 2 years of project work experience preferred
• Safe driving record

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• The worker is subject to confined spaces.
• The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions.
• The worker is subject atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
• The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places.
• This position requires travel and overtime.

Salary Range: $21.00- $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
