Job Summary:

The Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various machinery, including small excavators, skid steers, loaders, forklifts, and yard trucks. The role involves ensuring the efficient movement of materials and maintaining safety standards in the yard. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in operating heavy equipment and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate small excavator, skid steers, loaders, and forklifts to move materials and perform tasks within the yard.
• Safely operate a yard truck in a backup capacity when necessary.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and tires throughout the yard.
• Perform routine maintenance and checks on equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
• Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) and machinery safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Assist with other yard operations as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proven experience operating small excavators, skid steers, loaders, forklifts, and yard trucks.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.

Education and Experience:

• Previous experience in operating various machinery (small excavators, skid steers, loaders, forklifts)

This position is performed in a tire recycling and manufacturing environment regularly work with used tires, heavy materials, and production equipment. The role requires frequent lifting, carrying, stacking, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods. Exposure to dust, odors, noise, and varying weather conditions may occur. Proper use of required personal protective equipment is mandatory at all times.
