Red Ox Construction is seeking an Equipment Operator to join our Covington, LA team. The role involves safely operating excavators, dozers, skid steers, backhoes, and similar heavy equipment on construction sites in a heavy civil and municipal projects context.

Candidates should have 5+ years of hands-on experience, possess certification to operate heavy equipment, and be adept at reading blueprints and plans. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have substantial experience operating heavy construction equipment on civil sites.
• Ability to read and interpret civil blueprints, plans and specs.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices on construction sites.

Responsibilities

Red Ox Construction is seeking an Equipment Operator to join our team. As the equipment operator, you are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment such as an excavator, skid steer, backhoe, etc., on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment for various construction tasks including dozer, excavator, skid steer, backhoe.
• Read and interpret civil construction blueprints, plans, and job specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Communicate with supervisors and site personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
• Follow safety protocols to avoid accidents or damage to equipment and property.
• Perform site preparation, excavation, backfilling, grading, and other heavy lifting activities.
• Load and unload materials and equipment as needed.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management promptly.
