Here’s what you’d do:

The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include trucks, front end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, trenchers, backhoes, loaders, and other pieces of equipment. The Equipment Operator must also clean, maintain, and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures.

You’d be responsible for:

• Operating heavy equipment safely and effectively to minimize risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life.
• Performing daily safety and maintenance checks.
• Cleaning heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
• Ensuring heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
• Advising the Foreman of any maintenance or repair needs.
• Participating in routine maintenance.
• Practicing workplace safety.
• Maintaining inventory.

You might be a good fit if you have:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in equipment operation and maintenance.

And while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have:

• Experience working near automotive traffic.
• Experience working near natural bodies of water.
• The ability to work 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks, 5 days a week (some overtime/weekend work required).
• The ability to work in extreme conditions, including temperatures exceeding 100°F.
• The ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods.
• The ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (e.g., mulch, fertilizer).
• The ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailers (up to 50 lbs.).
• The ability to bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day.
