  • Follow MSHA/OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Load, transport, and stockpile materials; assist with site prep and material handling.
  • Report major issues and conduct basic maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and complete daily logs.

Position Overview
This is a skilled position responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment used in construction, aggregate production, and/or materials handling operations. This position supports daily production goals by maintaining equipment performance, following safety protocols, and ensuring high-quality results in a team-oriented environment. Position will be located in Rexburg and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties And Functions)
  • Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks, and other machinery as assigned.
  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
  • Monitor equipment performance and make operational adjustments to maintain productivity and efficiency.
  • Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and MSHA/OSHA regulations.
  • Load, transport, and stockpile materials according to production requirements. Assist with site preparation, grading, and material handling tasks.
  • Conduct basic maintenance and minor repairs; report major issues to maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production and project goals.
  • Complete required daily logs, inspection reports, and production records.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
Work Requirements
  • 1–3 years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
  • Experience in construction, aggregates, or related industries is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of equipment safety practices and procedures.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL may be preferred depending on role.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid Driver’s License is preferred
