Job summary

Austin Wood Recycling is hiring for a physically demanding role requiring long hours, outdoor work, and operation of heavy equipment. Job description

  • Must be able to work up to 60 hours per week, including Saturdays; overtime may be available but is not guaranteed.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required (if applicable to the role).
  • Must pass a drug screening and pre-employment physical, including the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and kneel for extended periods and walk short distances as needed.
  • Must be able to climb into and out of equipment multiple times daily using three points of contact.
  • Must have full use of hands and arms to steer, operate finger controls, and adjust interior and exterior equipment components.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and crawl to perform thorough equipment inspections and cleaning tasks.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must have adequate vision and hearing to safely operate vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to use arms overhead frequently for tasks such as cleaning equipment or tossing ropes and tie-down straps.
  • Must be able to pull ropes with up to 40 lbs. of resistance using upper body strength.
  • Must be comfortable working in dusty environments and around varying air quality conditions.
  • Must be able to perform visual checks by turning the upper body to look left, right, and behind in order to identify blind spots while operating equipment.
